Residence Hall VII, Kennedy Hall is the newest and largest dormitory of the University of Tampa Campus and opened in August of 2013. The residence hall is a 193,000 sq. foot, 12 story structure with 523 beds. Each student suite has a common living room with four single bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The eleventh floor includes two residential suites of eight bed occupancy, and two large community rooms with sweeping views of Tampa Bay, primarily for student use. The building roof includes a solar array that will supply hot water to the building. In alignment with University of Tampa's commitment to Environmental stewardship, the building was designed and constructed to be a candidate for leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification of the U.S. Green Building Council. The structural system is concrete columns and concrete shear walls with post-tensioned slabs.
