The Saint Leo University campus was lacking much needed parking for faculty and students and additional land to allow the need to be fulfilled by large expanses of surface parking. The solution was to work with the topography not found in most areas in Florida and build into the hillside a parking garage capable of having a combination NCAA soccer/lacrosse field with the ability of having two full size practice field running east and west when not in use. The end result is 730 cars have shaded parking conveniently located near the other athletic facilities and student housing. A Pressbox with bleachers and concession kitchen and lockers frame the west side of the field with the help of large pedestrian ramps that allow the field to have a stadium presence on the campus. The athletes use this field as well as intramural leagues from early in the morning until the evening hours. A professional synthetic turf field gives the university a space that allows for this constant student use without having to wait for grass recovery or rain delay due to field saturation. The top of the garage holds 150,000 square feet of soccer field, and 125,000 square feet of space is below, accommodating 730 cars and 24 spaces for motorcycles.
